One of the most innovative methods of sewer rehabilitation has come from trenchless pipe lining. In the Baytown area, our team at Sewer Co. provides trenchless pipe repair services to restore faulty pipelines as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Trenchless technology is a reference to the fact that pipeline rehabilitation projects are conducted and completed without the need to dig a trench in your yard or property. This makes the process much easier and affordable compared to traditional dig-and-replace methods. The pipe lining is a flexible, specially-coated sleeve-like film that is sent down the pipeline. Once the liner has fully extended and is in place we then apply hot water by sending it down the pipe. The hot water causes a chemical reaction on the epoxy-coating that results in a hardened, firm but thin lining inside the existing pipe. Once it has properly cured, the lining will serve as the new pipe within a pipe.
Before we get to the trenchless pipe lining solution, we first need to determine what the problem is. To do this, we employ a sewer camera inspection at the start of our visit. Because we use trenchless technology, we will dig one or two small holes down to the pipe connections. Once we gain access to the connections, we will disconnect the pipe that runs between your home or building and the street, and after this connection is established, we send our small, high-quality camera into the pipe. Through the video footage captured by the camera, our technicians are able to review the results and determine the damage inside of the pipelines and identify signs of problems, including being able to locate areas of damage caused by corrosion, leaks, cracks, and holes regardless of their size. If our technicians conclude that trenchless pipe lining will serve as the best solution possible, the pipeline will be cleaned, forcing debris and waste buildup out of the pipes and into the city main sewer line with our hydro jetting equipment. Trenchless pipe lining is a convenient and effective repair solution because it can be used to fix short sections of the pipeline or the entire length of the pipe itself, depending on the damage found. The epoxy-coated liner can be cut to meet the specifications needed, and after it is properly measured to fix the sections required, it is inserted into the pipeline through the connection established at the beginning of our visit. The liner is positioned to cover the damaged areas and inflated to fit the pipeline’s diameter, forcing the epoxy resin to coat the inner walls evenly and smoothly. The liner is deflated and removed, and after a few hours, the resin is cured in place, allowing the new material to completely seal away the presence of leaks and cracks in the old pipe. The hardened epoxy resin acts as the new pipe, and the material is strong and durable, resisting corrosion, tree root infestations, and other problems that are commonly found in other types of pipeline materials. Trenchless pipe lining is expected to serve homes and businesses for many years because of the strong qualities that allow it to function smoothly without any complications. By saving costs from being spent on needless labor crews and machinery, our customers can invest in a new service that is far more reliable and will produce results for at least fifty years or more. This prevents the likelihood of recurring problems from forming and ensures that our customers can depend on their new pipe lining for many years. Throughout the entirety of the process, your property is preserved, and because less energy and resources are used to complete our repairs, this serves as a more eco-friendly solution to pipeline problems.
